Collecting a Soil Sample
1.Carefully consider from where you want to test your soil. It is recommended to pick multiple sites in your area of interest because soil characteristics can very significantly across even small areas, especially in an urban environment.
2.Using a trowel, scoop at least one cup of soil into a sealable plastic bag from each site.
3.Label each plastic bag using a pen or permanent marker with which site the soil is from (for example: backyard, front lawn, near house, raised bed). This label should correspond with the submission form you filled out earlier and allows us to determine which tests results correspond to each samples.
4.Once your soil has been collected, packaged and labeled, send it to us at: [Address]
If we have any issues with determining which soil samples correspond to which forms, we will contact you for clarification using the phone number or email you provided.
